Eczema – Causes and Treatment

Tacroz Forte Ointment (Tacrolimus) is a standard generic of well known Protopic Tacrolimus lotion. Tacroz can be used to deal with atopic dermatitis — more commonly known as psoriasis — is a kind of inflammation of the skin (dermatitis), a condition where patches of skin become tough and inflamed with blisters that lead to bleeding and itching. It ends in chapped skin, and red, bloated. Clear fluid may come in the affected areas, which thicken over time.

How Does Tacroz Forte 0.1 Work?

Tacroz forte ointment suppresses the immune system and the inflammation by hindering an enzyme essential for the multiplication of T-cells, the cells that are required for the activation of the immune system. The tacroz forte ointment was approved for the treatment of eczema in December 2000.

How to Use Tacrolimus Ointment?

Tacroz forte ointment is applied directly to the affected skin. It is generally recommended to apply the ointment twice a day for a period of about 6 weeks to see any noticeable results. If you don’t observe any changes or improvements in your condition after that, consult your doctor for further treatment.

  1. Wash your hands and the affected area; dry them and wait for at least 10-15 minutes to let them dry completely.
  2. Apply a thin layer of tacroz forte ointment to all the affected areas of the skin. Rub the ointment to get absorbed into the skin.
  3. Wash your hands with soap and water to remove any leftover tacroz forte ointment after applying.
  4. Don’t wash your hands if they are the affected ones.
  5. You may cover the treated area with normal clothing, but don’t use any bandages, dressings or wraps.
  6. Don’t wash off the ointment from the affected areas.
  7. Apply to the affected areas twice daily or as directed by your doctor.
  8. Avoid contact with eyes, mouth and nose.
